"Behind Photographs" is a testament to the talented men and women who have captured some of the most recognized photographic images of our time Many of these gifted individuals remain anonymous, as there is only tiny testament for their iconic photo listed below their published photographs, in six point type. The project is delicated to the talents who have forged innovative and inspirational ground over the past decades and the images that they have selflessly provided to all of us for generations to come.

In December 2006, Tim Mantoani decided to capture historic photographers and their images in one 20"x24" print. Utilizing a 20x24 Polaroid Camera - a rare mammoth view camera that is not easily transported from one place to another, Tim Mantoani has documented over 100 photographers and will continue fueling this project with the intent to archive and artistic medium challenged ny technological advance and shrinking financial support. There is much work to be done, as the supplies to fuel this unique camera are no longer production.

"Behind Photographs" is a historical journey that will continue to capture the faces behind the lens, the personalities and moments captured by them, and a medium that in time, will no longer exist.
