Tom from Delete London recently dropped Mirko a line about their website design being stolen by… Jane Fonda (well… actually by the people who created her website). Although this is not the worst case of design theft, it looks like Jane Fonda’s designers have been more than just “inspired”. Even though imitation can be taken as a form of flattery for a designer, let’s take a look at what you can do to when it happens to you.

When you make the move from being an employee to a freelancer or business owner, a lot changes. If you are used to the employee/employer relationship, it can be difficult to change your mindset and your actions into that of an entrepreneur. It is absolutely vital to recognize these changes, however, in order to take full advantage of your independent status and avoid some of the common pitfalls.

(星島日報報道)奉勸大家，到銀行存入支票，切記要索取「入數」收條，無論職員怎樣循循善「誘」，也千萬不可遵其指示，將支票投入收集箱。皆因，當存款不翼而飛時，銀行就會反過來向客戶索取「入數」憑據。

去年除夕日，女秘書蕭小姐往「字母銀行」，代公司存入一張萬五元面額的支票。蕭是老派人士，拒絕依職員之誘導使用支票收集箱，堅持在櫃位處理，取得存票收條。幸好，她不貪圖一時之便，否則……

今年一月初的月結單，竟沒有顯示那萬五元的存款。也許支票結算需時，且待二月。然而再等三十天後，新收到的月結單，依舊不見該筆存款。秘書小姐於是乎去電銀行查問。糾纏一番後，冷不防對方來個反問：「有沒有入數證明？」

Small vs Big

When you are starting out as freelance designer or a small design agency, you may worry whether or not clients perceive you as big agency. You shouldn’t. There are plenty of reasons why being small is good and big is bad

1. Small agencies tend to cost less and produce more. Because your overhead is smaller, you are able to reduce the hourly fee.

經常有新朋友問呢壇freelance點收、果壇freelance點收，呢度比條方程式大家，有咗呢條方程式之後大家可以自己計價，唔好再問我。

假設你接一份老麥洗廁所既freelance：

 

先計你個人工時值幾錢：

假設你每月人工值$4,800
(唔好問我你人工值幾錢，自己都唔知自己值幾錢就唔好接freelance，免得累人累物)
$4,800 ÷ 每月30是 ÷ 每日8個鐘
=$20 即係話你每個工時值$20蚊

 

再計成本：

先估計成壇freelance你需要幾多工時、工具及消耗品。

假設你需要：
工時：16個鐘
工具：1把地拖
消耗品：2枝綠水，1枝漂白水

$20工時價X16個鐘
=$320即係話呢壇嘢嘅工時成本為$320蚊
